\u201cThis Monday we had the first session of subcutaneous immunoglobulins for the treatment of my son Juan, the night before we were happy to be able to start this treatment but a little nervous about how the day would go, deep down that negative thought appeared that something would go wrong, that it would be a complicated day, disastrous due to the trip, or that the treatment would not be allowed to be done... We thought that something would fail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My son has moderate autism, he is 5 years old, he is non-verbal, and he does not always take changes in routine well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To do the treatment we had to go by car to the station, take a train for more than two hours and once in the city go by taxi to the clinic, a whole new adventure for Juan, the truth is that we thought it would be a disaster. , but quite the opposite, he loved going by train, he was very calm the entire trip looking at the landscape through the window, he ate a little and looked at the drawings, everything was perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once at the clinic, we had to wait until the professionals arrived. The child was still very calm, the parents not so much, praying and crossing their fingers that everything would go well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Treatment with immunoglobulins<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Once the nurse prepared the material for the injections, it was time to hold Juan because a couple of punctures had to be made in his belly to infuse the immunoglobulins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a moment of tension because we had to hold his arms to be able to puncture him but without further ado, when we realized he already had the two tubes in his belly and the medicine was entering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The boy was calm looking at the drawings standing with his tablet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we had been there for about 10 minutes, Juan touched one of the lines and the nurse had to stop to put the material back in place. It was a nervous moment, but once again when we realized it again, everything was back in its place and we were continuing with The infussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time we were a little more alert when he put his hands on his belly, we held them to prevent him from tearing it off and everything was under control, Juan continued calmly looking at the drawings on his tablet and by the time we realized, in less than an hour, we were already done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At that moment we felt very relieved to have been able to successfully carry out the first session. My wife and I looked at each other and smiling, we said, \u201cWell, it wasn't that big of a deal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the way back home, on the train Juan behaved extremely well, considering that we had made so many changes to his routine without having taken his daily nap and for having lasted almost an hour with the treatment, the truth is that the last thing we expected The thing is that it went well on the return trip... the truth is that everything went wonderfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the next session we will surely go calmer and everything will go just as well again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
