From not answering questions to reading and writing: this has been her incredible transformation.<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Many of you have asked us how Matilde is doing with her treatment, and we want to share with you a brief update full of hope and joy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Significant cognitive advances<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
As of today, Matilde has been on IVIG treatment for a year and a half and already has 11 years.<\/strong> The most notable thing about this time has been his impressive cognitive progress. Today, he's begun to write without help and is reading sentences in simple books, something that seemed far away a short time ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plus, he's already able to answer questions like, "What did you do this weekend?" or "Who did you play with at school?"\u2014something that continues to thrill us every time he does it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For those who have not followed his history<\/a> From the outset, it is important to remember that before treatment, Matilde had never answered a question, she didn't say anything, and her communication was purely functional: she asked for water when she was thirsty or said "pee" when she wanted to go to the bathroom, but there was no conversation or exchange beyond that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another wonderful aspect we're experiencing is her growing independence. Matilde now dresses herself, chooses the clothes she wants, showers, grooms, combs her hair, and even makes breakfast herself. The most beautiful thing is seeing how she increasingly understands the world around her. It's as if she were 4 or 5 years old now and just beginning to develop, with the advantage that her progress is continuous, and every day we see small, big improvements that fill us with hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We remain confident that this path of progress will continue, and we deeply appreciate all of you who are interested in Matilde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
